Come Try Out!

Auditions for the pioneer musical Quilters will be held Thursday, May 15, and Friday, May 16, from 7-9 p.m. at the theater. We need women aged 16-65. Come prepared to sing: there will be an accompanist, and you may bring your own sheet music or a cd if you wish, but it is not required. You will also be asked to read a scene, and to do some simple dancing, so please wear appropriate shoes. For more information, contact the director, Edith Hinrichs, at 928-3022 or hinrichs_e@bellsouth.net Read more about this beautiful, moving, and intensely theatrical show on the 2008 Season page of this web site.

Theatre 98 is always looking for new faces to put on stage, and no experience is necessary. Almost every one of our productions has had at least one newcomer in it. Auditions are held at the theater, usually about ten weeks before the production opens. While every director is different, as a general rule he or she will have the prospective actors read from the script in question, sometimes alone and sometimes with another actor. It is never necessary to have a prepared audition monologue, but if an actor does have one, most directors will be happy to hear it.
