Come Try Out!

Auditions for the fast-paced farce The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, directed by Timothy Guy, will be held Sunday, April 18, and Monday, April 19, at 7 p.m. We need men and women aged 20-70. Despite the title, this is not a musical, but we do need a cast member who can play the piano at least a little. This show will be a lot of fun, and has good parts for newcomers to the stage, so don't be shy! Read more about the play on the 2010 Season page of the website, and for more information contact Hilary Martin at hilarymartin@mchsi.com or 990-6253.

Theatre 98 is always looking for new faces to put on stage, and no experience is necessary. Almost every one of our productions has had at least one newcomer in it. Auditions are held at the theater, usually about ten weeks before the production opens. While every director is different, as a general rule he or she will have the prospective actors read from the script in question, sometimes alone and sometimes with another actor. It is never necessary to have a prepared audition monologue, but if an actor does have one, most directors will be happy to hear it.
